FO: Sonetto Shawl

I finished up my second Sonetto Shawl this past summer, hence that beautiful sun you see in the pictures. I shared some Sonetto Shawl progress shots back in March. I first knit the Sonetto pattern by Judy Marples a couple of winters ago for a Christmas present for my Mom. I simply love this shawl, it is so delicate and airy.

I used Berroco’s Ultra Alpaca Fine yarn in Turquoise Mix. I had originally purchased this yarn to make a hat for my mother in-law, but changed my mind after realizing that this yarn is actually a bit scratchy. So yes, it is a bit scratchy around my neck, but either I am getting use to it or it is softening up.

You’ll notice that I am wearing the shawl a bit to the side. This is the first shawl I have ever worn and I kept feeling like it looked a bit like a bib when I wore it right in front. I have since changed my mind on this and am wearing it more straight on now. I’ve already gotten a lot of use out of this shawl, it keeps me warm at work and I love the added colour to my outfit.
